StartupsE-commerceTechnologyAI & Blockchain

Launched in late 2024, Ajman NuVentures Centre Free Zone (ANCFZ) is a tech-focused, low-cost jurisdiction with packages starting from AED 4,888 (and visa bundles from AED 10,800), supporting up to 7 visa allocations. Emerging Low-Cost Node; Track Record Still Forming.

ANCFZ launched in October 2024 as one of the newest UAE free zones, built around a fully digital, AI-driven registration platform and aggressive low-cost positioning for startups, e-commerce, and blockchain ventures. Because it has no multi-year operating history, banks and counterparties price in a higher diligence premium than for established Ajman-cluster zones — expect closer scrutiny at account-opening stage until the zone builds a longer compliance track record. Its QFZP position under Federal Decree-Law No. 47 has not yet been tested through a full audit cycle.

Statutory basis

Operates under Ajman's free zone framework and is expected to qualify as a Qualifying Free Zone Person (QFZP) under Federal Decree-Law No. 47, subject to Article 18 substance and qualifying-income conditions once its first full audit cycles complete.

Compliance roadmap

  1. Document management substance early — banks will ask for more than the standard package given the zone's short operating history
  2. Track and retain evidence of Core Income-Generating Activities from incorporation, since no prior audit precedent exists to point to
  3. Confirm QFZP qualifying-income treatment with a tax advisor before assuming standard free-zone tax treatment applies unmodified

Common pitfalls

  • Assuming service-level parity with long-established Ajman zones (RAKEZ, AFZ) — renewal and support processes are still maturing
  • Underestimating the extra banking diligence a new, unproven zone attracts relative to a legacy free zone
